Wow! It’s been since 2015 since I posted a blog. Truth? Have you ever heard of the “Dark Night of the Soul”? Eckhart Tolle defines it as “ A term used to describe what one could call a collapse of a perceived meaning in life. Or an eruption into your life of a deep sense of meaninglessness. The inner state in some cases is very close to what is conventionally called depression. Nothing makes sense anymore, there’s no purpose to anything. Sometimes it’s triggered by some external event, some disaster perhaps, on an external level” (Read more by clicking the quote.)
Well, that’s where I just came from. I realize it’s unconventional to share such things professionally (and socially), so I will spare you the details (cue sigh of relief), but I wanted to open up about this in hopes it helps you feel more human with me. My creative light has been dimmed for a long time. It’s been surfacing again for a few months, and I have been keeping my client load light while I made certain that I was definitely re-surfacing and it wasn’t just a break in the clouds. I wasn’t sure if the bottom would drop out and out of fear of disappointing clients or prolonging this lovely experience, I shut down.
So, although I am back in the saddle, I am not the same person or marketer I was 3 years ago. It’s only fair to warn you that I know more about life, business, relationship, and am more creative than ever. I am still growing my confidence, but the passion is there. My intuition is strong and I have learned to trust it.
There’s a spiritual component to my being that trickles into everything I do. I used to hide it, bury it, apologize for it. Today, I introduce it as one of my greatest strengths and an asset to my clients. It’s not for everyone, and that’s why I buried it. I didn’t want to offend anyone or lose business. I compromised my integrity to accommodate the masses. Piece of advice? Don’t do that. I am learning that everything is on time, and the right people come at the right time. You don’t have to force it, but you do have to be clear and intentional about what you’re doing and your why.
So that’s what I have done. My mission is to help people. I love working with small businesses and helping them untangle the noise around what they are trying to build. I want to give them tools that are easy to use and support to reach their audiences with clear, decisive messaging. I want to clear the overwhelm and turn it into confidence. I want to empower you to do your thing and change the world in your way.
See, the big secret is this. I believe in helping and service. I believe in integrity, truth, fairness, honesty, sweat equity, growth, learning, passion, and commitment. I believe that the way you do something is the way you do everything. Your energy precedes you and like attracts like. So, you don’t need every client or customer, you need your right clients and customers. I believe the sometimes best way to learn is to make a mistake and try again. Finally, I don’t believe in failure. There’s no such thing. It’s all just growth and opportunity, usually you just need to change perspectives.
I want you (and me) to find the long term, committed customers who sing your praises and appreciates what you do so much they happily pay you for it. My goal, is to teach you what you need to know to build your empire and enjoy doing it.
I do yoga, read tarot cards (happy to give you a reading!), meditate, pray, don’t eat meat, have crystals, read self help books (I also read non fiction, fiction, and magazines), and pretty much every other woo woo thing you can think of (except patchouli). But I also understand marketing, public relations, instagram, facebook, email lists, social media, branding, and more. I have degrees and street cred and I can’t wait to meet you!
